英国传统民谣 English Folk
Vashti Bunyan原本是在艺术学校习画的女孩，在1964年因为写的歌比画的画还要多而结识了Rolling Stones的经纪人／制作人Andrew Loog Oldham，尔后发行两张专辑（CD EP），令她初露锋芒。但以当时的角度来看，她的音乐过于简约，在流行音乐界中不属于讨喜的类型，反而让她的创作停顿。1968年和Andrew Loog Oldham解约，表面上看似从音乐圈退休，其实是她波西米亚的性格，离开伦敦到苏格兰的赫布里底群岛旅行（还是买了马和马车，和她的男朋友和狗），就是为了奇迹般的结识英国的Bob Dylan－Donovan！1969年她和传奇制作人Joe Boyd（Pink Floyd、REM、Richard Thompson、 Fairport Convention、Nick Drake）合作录制第一张正式专辑”Just Another Diamond Day”，打算重返音乐界，却在专辑完成后，或许是缺乏宣传等等因素导致唱片销售不佳，使得这张专辑成了滞销品，Vashti Bunyan就在1970年正式离开爱尔兰以及音乐界。从64年到70年Vashti Bunyan一直不被市场接受，一直到2000年Spinney再版这张专辑，这位民歌阿嬷才又得以问世，我们也才有幸能够聆听到当年温婉的录音和她本人真诚无邪的嗓音。
