组合简介：
德国说唱组合，于1995年12月组建于凯泽斯劳滕的K-Town的音乐工作室。这是美国本土以外最大的美国人社区，一半人口是美国人，由于很多美国军人退役后投身音乐，这里也是说唱和Hip Hop制作人的福地。最初的成员包括：说唱歌手Joe Thompson，美国人，生于1972年，曾在美国陆军服役并参加了海湾战争，后退役并与来自Fun Factory的Rod. D等人结为好友开始说唱生涯；以及Darren Tucker。两人合作的首支单曲“Don't Look Any Further”（M People同名歌曲的说唱版）并未引起人们的注意。。1996年年中的第二支单曲“Vision of Life”在多个欧洲国家成为热门：德国榜单前20，法国榜单前10，并进入奥地利和瑞士榜单，上榜了近四个月。在“Vision of Life”发行后不久，Darren Tucker就因为与经纪人产生矛盾而不得不退出，随后Mike Dalien加入组合。Mike Dalien，德裔美国人，来自军人家庭，并全身心投入了音乐事业，他与Joe Thompson相识后两人一起写歌作曲。1996年11月发行了首张专辑《Visions》，进入了德国专辑榜单；以及“Potion”，被认为是首支进入美国榜单的“Lovething/We Do It Like That”和受O.J.辛普森谋杀案启发而创作的“Murder”等单曲。Down Low还曾与Flip Da Scrip一起以Hip Hop Alliance为德国音乐电视频道VIVA创作了歌曲“Nothing Like Viva”。随后C-Block，Nana和A.K. - S.W.I.F.T.等说唱艺人接连登场，他们一起被认为是在20世纪90年代中期首批在Hip Hop中加入欧式风格的歌手。欧式Hip Hop在前进——在音乐方向和文化上。Down Low充分证明了自己绝非昙花一现，在这个音乐风格领域，他们是唯一在一年半的时间里每支单曲都上榜的团体。他们的现场则演出充满了与观众的互动，Mike Dalien深情的嗓音和Joe Thompson流畅的说唱和动作让人印象深刻。1997年NRJ 电台授予Down Low最佳说唱表演奖，这是欧洲说唱团体获得的首项大奖。
