歌手简介：
瑞克·詹姆斯（Rick James），上世纪七八十年代享有盛名的“放克大师”。 在从60年代到70年代期间，瑞克·詹姆斯创造了许多著名的歌曲，比如《GiveIttoMeBaby》（《宝贝把它给我》）和《SuperFreak》（《超级瘾君子》）。瑞克詹姆斯以热力十足的作品以及豪放不羁的形象闻名，他从70年代与摩城 (Motown)唱片签约之后，不但以多首畅销歌曲成为该唱片公司最赚钱的艺人之一。
瑞克出生于纽约州的布法罗市，上个世纪60年代时开始活跃在乐坛。1977年，瑞克来到美国底特律并开始研究摇滚音乐，从中得到了莫大的灵感，开始了他“放克音乐”的制作道路。1978年，他制作了第一张自己的R&B唱片，其中的单曲《我和你》（《YouandI》）成为了当年20首最佳歌曲之一。他也开始被称为“放克之父”。1981年，瑞克的事业达到了顶峰，他的单曲“StreetSongs”跻身R&B音乐榜榜首和流行音乐榜的第三名。之后，瑞克得奖无数，并于1990年获得了音乐最高的奖项———格莱美“最佳R&B歌曲”奖。
2004年8月6日，56岁的瑞克·詹姆斯在睡眠中逝世。詹姆斯自己独自生活，后来被他的助手发现后通知警方赶到现场。 警方和詹姆斯的助手都认为詹姆斯是自然死亡，而具体原因还没有被公布。
